AL "White" Tryouts (6-th-8th Grade) 9-10:30AM
Only for players that have signed up for this division. Eighth Graders and any players from last season that played in the "White"
Division will be automatically placed in this division and need not try out. All other players must report at 9AM and any player not in attendance for this tryout will automatically be placed in the "Blue" Division.

Kindergarten and First Grade General Skills Clinics
One hour/team. Coaches will be notified by the K-1 Director of their specific time slot.
8:30-10AM
First of FOR FEE clinics offered by the GSLW at Edison School Gymnasium (3rd-8th Grade)
The GSLW is providing FOR FEE clinics in addition to FREE clinics over the next 4-6 weeks. The FOR FEE clinics are $20 per 90 minute session, are conducted by professional softball instructors, and are intended to provide additional instruction over and above the FREE clinics for those seeking to learn and improve their skills. Normal private and semi-private lessons range from $40-$80 per hour.
This first FOR FEE clinic is a Pitching Clinic this Sunday, March 21st from 8:30-10:00 AM at the Edison Intermediate School gym.
Those interested should confirm their attendance by emailing Patrick McBrearty, the GSLW Director of Player Development, at pmcbrearty@deloitte.com.
Please bring tennis shoes (no cleats), your glove and someone to catch for you. The clinic will begin promptly at 8:30 and will cover basic, intermediate and advanced pitching skills, dependent on individual ability. New pitchers are welcome and encouraged.

The clinic will be run by Rich Vaccaro with assistance from Patrick and Rich’s current GSLW students. Rich is a professional softball instructor who has worked with many Westfield GSLW players, including current 8th graders Lauren Schmeider, Elena Scarano, Julia Diamatopoulus and others.
Rich is the new head softball coach at South Hunterdon Regional High School. In the fall of 2009 he was the Assistant Softball Coach/Pitching Coach at the County College of Morris. Rich has been a men’s semi-pro fastpitch softball windmill pitcher for 35 years and he has played in State and National tournaments. He has been coaching softball and providing softball pitching and skills instructions for 11 years to girls from 2nd grade through college seniors, for girls playing on recreation league, travel league, junior high school, high school and college teams.
Patrick is a long-time GSLW coach and the GSLW Director of Player Development.

Saturday, April 17
OPENING DAY PARADE; 9AM
The Girls Softball League of Westfield has accepted the VERY GRACIOUS invitation from Westfield Baseball to now have our GSLW coaches and teams march in the Opening Day Parade with the boy’s Baseball teams. Teams will be meeting at Mindowasken Park at 9AM to organize and begin the parade at 9:30AM and arrive a Gumbert Fields at approximately 10AM. From 10AM-1PM there will be rides and concessions at Gumbert. The GSLW is seeking several volunteers to help in the organization and implementation of this incredibly fun day.
