The Girls Softball League of Westfield (GSLW) is a not-for-profit organization, the purpose of which is to provide the girls of Westfield, NJ with the opportunity to learn and to play fastpitch softball. As a general proposition, the GSLW’s programs are open to all girls (grades K-12) who live in Westfield or who go to school in Westfield. And, with some exceptions, the GSLW’s programs are organized and run entirely by volunteers from the Westfield community.
Tryouts for 8U and new Travel players ONLY will be held Saturday, 2/1 from 9:00-10:45 am at the Turf at the Strength and Fitness Club in Cranford. 8U and new Travel players should register to tryout in the Spring 2025 Travel registration link below.
Tryouts for all Travel players who wish to play on a GSLW Travel team during the Summer 2025, Fall 2025, and/or Spring 2026 seasons will be held April 23-24 (rain/makeup date April 27). More information will be sent in March.
Early registration ($180) will end on January 15th. Registration fee will increase to $205 from January 16-February 15.

To coach in our leagues, you must be Rutgers Certified. The Rutgers SAFETY Clinic (Sports Awareness for Educating Today’s Youth ™) is a three-hour program that meets the “Minimum Standards for Volunteer Coaches Safety Orientation and Training Skills Programs” (N.J.A.C. 5:52) and provides partial civil immunity protection to volunteer coaches under the “Little League Law” (2A:62A-6 et. seq.)
